The Not So Secret Villain of America

¨26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?¨ said Trump. Is this really what we want as the president of the united States. Donald Trump is the President of the United States so this should be brought to the attention by the student at Oak Ridge when it comes to the 2020 election whether or not we should vote for him. Donald Trump is villain because of his demeaning attitudes towards women and other minorities and his irresponsible and immature comments that demonstrate how unqualified he is to represent this nation.

With politician after politician being elected to be the head of our country people decided that we need a change in that routine. With many other examples of outsiders becoming presidents such as Jimmy Carter a peanut farmer and Ronald Reagan an actor. The United States citizens wanted this change because they did not feel secure with really involved politicians becoming president with the credibility gap mainely starting with the Pentagon Papers. The Pentagon Papers released by Daniel Ellsberg was a series of papers which talked about the involvement in the Vietnam War with secret bombings that went on in Cambodia. These bombings and other vents did not get shown the United States citizens making the citizens felt like they were lied to. The credibility gap largened when Former President Nixon had the heat of the Watergate scandal on his back. The Watergate scandal was a scandal with multiple men breaking into the Watergate complex. Many people started to believe that President Nixon had something to do with this with his harsh attempt to cover up the break in. With tapes around the White House being found with Nixon admitting to this he then later resigned to avoid impeachment.  These events made citizens wonder if they should trust politicians. Thus introducing the man himself Donald Trump who born on June 14th, 1946. He grew up in New York. He was raised by Frederick and Mary Trump alongside his four other siblings. After his childhood he then went to college at Fordham University but not to long after transferred to University of Pennsylvania. Graduating with an economics degree in 1968. After many years of working up he became on of the most notable businessmen in the United States with the family business becoming his to own. On June 16th, 2015 he announced his candidacy to run for the President of the United States. Stating many times that if the presidentary got so bad he would eventually run for president. Trump later won the 2016 election with 306-232 win over the democratic politician Hillary Clinton.

As the leader of our nation, our President should love and respect everyone in it; however, the degrading attitude Donald Trump has towards people of other race and women show how he is an enemy of the people.  “I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything… grab them by the p***y.” (Filipovic, Jill) said Trump. The quotes is from a tape leaked by a man named Billy Bush who us an anchorman for Access Hollywood. Many experts say that sexual harassment can lead to depression and anxiety unfortunately can also lead to suicide. This quote shows how Donald Trump has been degrading to women in the past saying that since he is essentially famous that he can do whatever he wants to women. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best, they’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.¨ (Simon, Darran) said Trump. Trump has been known for attacking Mexico and there people when it comes to immigration with ideas of building a large wall along side the United States and Mexican Border. Trump is simply stereotyping all of the mexican immigrants coming the to United States calling them rapists and drug lords. Do we really want a president that is so demeaning to women and minorities around the world?

As Donald Trump continues to lead our nation , he continues to act immature and irresponsible despite having the important job of representing our nation well to the people of the United States and the people of the world.  “It’s 1999, I’m on Meet the Press, a show now headed by sleepy eyes Chuck Todd,” Trump recalled. “He’s a sleeping son of a b***h. I’ll tell you.”(Watkins, Eli)  said Trump. This is what Donald Trump said when he was talking about the show Meet the Press comparing Chuck Todd to former host Tim Russert. This shows Trumps immaturity when it comes to people not liking what he does just talking down to them and making insults to them. Another example of Trump being immature him calling Kim Jong Un names. ¨The Chinese Envoy, who just returned from North Korea, seems to have had no impact on Little Rocket Man.¨ (Press, Associated). Trump is provoking Kim Jong Un by calling him these names that you wouldn’t even see on a elementary school playground. With many other people such as the Hillary Clinton saying he is immature with this quote, “[Trump] is immature, with poor impulse control; unqualified for the position that he holds; reactive, not proactive; not strategic, either at home or on the world stage” (Delk, Josh).  Trumps immaturity coming out in this quote is not  what we should have as a president. With many other examples of Trump tweeting out things against things he does not like.

Donald Trump is a villain because of his immaturity and demeaning attitude towards women and immigrants. The United States should not support this immature president that is trying to run the country.  Us students need to look at these past events that have happened during Donald Trump’s presidential run and before it to see if we really want this man running our country for four more years. This could be in ways of marching against Trump and try to enforce an impeachment.

  1. Great Article. Best One Yet!!!

  2. I bet you feel really proud of yourself, putting a positive comment on your own article.

On the other note, people, as you stated, are tired of status-quo politicians. That’s how Trump came about. Does he have an attitude problem? I think so. However, that why people like him; he will always speak his mind. Does he do and say stupid things? Of course. His choice of language in the Access Hollywood tapes are virtually no different than the locker room talk I hear nearly every day by a wide assortment of peers. Should he have said it? No, of course not. What he said came back to bite him years later.

It comes down to the point that nobody’s perfect. Take Hillary, for example. She’s done plenty of things she probably regretted. The email scandal that surrounded her campaign was extremely damaging to her image, causing voters to infer that she is distrustful. Those voters would rather have a loudmouth as a president than have one shrouded in an investigation (note that this was BEFORE the Russia investigation).

Personally, I like most of his policies and would like to keep him unless he starts doing something ACTUALLY racist; something in the lines of bringing back segregation laws (which would be an extremely hard thing to pass).
