Most people do not know what Ronald Reagan did to be such a hero. One of his accomplishments was ending the Cold War. He ended it doing many different things like his speech in Berlin on June 1987 he said a famous speech called “Tear down this wall”. This speech he urged the Soviet lead Mr Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin wall. He stated in his speech “Every man is a Berliner, forced to look upon a scar. . . . As long as this gate is closed, as long as this scar of a wall is permitted to stand, it is not the German question alone that remains open, but the question of freedom for all mankind.”(Ronald Reagan) He said this meaning of how this wall is just separating freedom of mankind. Another major thing Ronald reagan did was he made the economy something good for a chance. After his tax cuts the economy went up for 18 years in a row from 800 to 10,000. From this he had made $15 trillion to $20 Trillion to people and industries. This did not just give people more money he destroyed the inflation and companies became more productive profitable and valuable. Another huge thing is jobs he created about 15 million new jobs to the list. In this time hard work was rewarded with lots of money. Also He had a major effect on the cold war because of all this money that America is now generating and is able to use Ronald Reagan put it to military. Which made a huge difference in the cold war it made it sow we were growing so quick while the Soviet Union was declining, they could not keep up with America. Another great accomplishment was how he spent money to also help end the drug war and he put money to funding to find a cure to Aids. Truly an overall great man who did so much to help and little to nothing to hurt people.

One major thing which what made him such a great president was his experience of living as what one could say as a true American. He did it all he was a actor a 2nd lieutenant in the military he was a governor for California and also a President. Through his movies he realised how bad communism was trying to spread so he hopped on the conservative side and tried to put an end to it and succeeded. He was enrolled of a home study army extension course after completing 14 of the courses he decided to try to enlist  in the military. He then was a 2nd lieutenant for the Officers Reserve Corps. His first assignment was at San Francisco port in California. After the military Ronald Reagan went straight back to his film career made lots of movies. One of his most famous movies was Knute Rockne, all American and it was about an all American boy who grew up excelling in school sports than later the military and then becomes a teacher and a coach and sadly dies a tragic death from a strep infection. Ronald Reagan did it all he experienced almost everything and knows how a true american is and how they should live life.

Ronald Reagan no doubt a hero, he changed many lives through his whole life. His death in on June 5 2004 shook people and made many people truly devastated. Also living through a horrible disease Alzheimers which truly is awful. He slowly loses his memory and just ruins anyone that has the disease. It was awful for his family and most of America. He ended a war raised the economy to the highest peak it has ever been and also made some really popular movies. He changed people and made them realise how great America can actually be. Has been a hero from his accomplishment in office and his experience through life. Without Ronald Reagan America would be totally different from what is is today. He will always be known as one of the greatest presidents of all time for all of his accomplishments.

  1. I agree with the claims in this article. Reagan conducted “Reaganomics” to deregulate businesses in the US. For the first part of his term in office, he had harsh rhetoric and action against the communists. However, this turned into easing of relations after Gorbichev came into power in the Soviet Union.
