Led Zeppelin was the first successful rock band in history and they impacted music then and they still have an impact today. They also affected artists today through their music and changed music then and still do now through other artists. In the late 60’s and early 70’s, a lot of Led Zeppelin’s was based on sex and drugs which changed the society then, especially teenagers. This lead to rebeling which was a big part of the time era.
Led Zeppelin was a very popular British band but they brought a different type of music to the time period and changed many people. They are known for their famous song “Stairway to Heaven” which was released in 1971. Their first album was called “Led Zeppelin” and has known songs like “I Can’t Quit You Baby” and “You Shook Me” which was released in 1969.They were extremely successful back then and even now are still very popular. The name “Led Zeppelin” was made in October 1968 which was around a year before they released their first album. They have sold over 300 million records and millions of concert tickets all around the world. During the 1970’s the band had setbacks including accidents, deaths, and other events.
Led Zeppelin’s music has influenced lots of artists today through their own music and some covered their songs as well. Artists like Beyonce and Eminem have used the same sound of Led Zeppelin and they went on to be very successful songs. Some people say that Led Zeppelin lead to the formation of bands like Nirvana and Pearl Garden because Led Zeppelin was the first successful rock band. Led Zeppelin also had a huge influence on other rock bands like Aerosmith and Queen but also punk rock bands such as the Cult and the Ramones.
Led Zeppelin had an enormous impact on music and what their lyrics were about altered society causing most teenagers to rebel. Their lyrics included things about sex, drugs and other things that caused change. People looked up to them so, people started to copy the way they dressed even other bands started to do this too. Led Zeppelin’s style was usually open bottom jeans and tight graphic tees. Plenty of people copied their style of clothes but they were most popular for their hair. All four members at one point, had long hair which people started to do too. During the time Led Zeppelin was most famous, troops were withdrawn from Vietnam, the Cold War and oil crisis were happening and many other things . Led Zeppelin’s music represented this time period through their music.
Led Zeppelin changed the history of music and has even had an impact in today’s society and definitely did in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Their starting of a rock band changed everyone including other artists in history and they still continue to influence tons of artists today. They changed the way music was created and will always be a tremendous part of music history.
